I recently figured out how to make a notepad. Yes. I made a notepad that I can use for my lists and other things around the house and office. It is simple to make one yourself. Follow the tutorial below to make your own.
I have a bit of a notebook obsession. I have notes and lists in all over the house. As much as I love my phone, I still need a notepad and paper for my to-do lists.
Since these can be costly, I discovered a simple way I can make a notepad at home! It is simple to do, and once you start, you’ll have fun creating them with fun designs to give as gifts.
Best of all, when you make your own notepad, you can do so for pennies – making it very affordable!

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN NOTEPAD
(I use 4×6)
Before you start, you may want to add embellishments or a monogram to your paper. For example, I used PicMonkey and added a small floral motif to my pages, and then printed it out. While the monogram or design is not necessary, it is a way to add personalization to your notepad. Print out several copies to make your notebook.
Use a paper cutter and trim all of the paper to the size of the chipboard. You will want to cut anywhere from 75 – 100 sheets for your notepad. I made mine 4″ x 6″, but you can make yours whatever size your chipboard happens to be.
*TIP: This is best when done using a paper cutter. If you do not have one, your local UPS Store should have one. For a very nominal fee, they can cut your paper to whatever size you need.
Once you cut your paper, stack it on top of the chipboard. Make sure the top edges are perfectly alighted and then use binder clips to secure it together.
Next, Use your paintbrush and apply a liberal coat of padding compound to the top of the stack. After 15 minutes, apply a second coat. Allow it to dry for another 15 – 30 minutes, and it’s done!
That’s it! These are the same quality as you find in the store, but you can make them yourself at home for pennies. The notebook I created cost less than $0.75 to make myself!
See how easy it is to make a notepad?! If you need a unique gift, these are perfect for coaches, teachers, bridal showers – the list goes on and on!
